Eleven Medical School Faculty Promoted

Academic promotions have been awarded to eleven faculty members at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Carbondale and Springfield. The promotions were approved in April by the SIU Board of Trustees and are effective this month.

[Note - faculty are in Springfield unless noted.]

Four faculty members have been promoted - Blaine Bartholomew, Ph.D., from associate professor to professor of biochemistry and molecular biology in Carbondale; Dr. Stephen M. Milner, from associate professor to professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery; Dr. Timothy P. O'Connor, from assistant professor to associate professor of general surgery, and Dr. David Rogers, from associate professor to professor of general surgery.

Five faculty members have been promoted with tenure - Amy C. Arai, Ph.D., from assistant to associate professor of pharmacology; Dr. Joni M. Clark, from assistant to associate professor of neurology; Gary E. Myers, Ph.D., from assistant to associate professor of medical humanities; Ross D. Silverman, J.D., from assistant to associate professor of medical humanities, and JianJun Wang, Ph.D., from assistant to associate professor of biochemistry and molecular biology in Carbondale.

Two faculty members have been awarded tenure - Dr. Kim J. Hodgson, professor of peripheral vascular surgery, and Dr. Mark McAndrew, professor of orthopaedics and rehabilitation.
