SIU Med School Sponsors Israel Ethnic Heritage Day

An Ethnic Heritage Day celebration featuring Israeli culture will be held Tuesday, July 25, at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. The event will be held noon to 1:30 p.m. in the lobby of the School’s main building at 801 N. Rutledge St., Springfield.

The program includes a talk by Les Eastep of Rochester, who will share excerpts from his personal travel journal about a recent 10-day visit to Israel.

There also will be cultural displays and artifacts as well as tasting of foods from Israel.

Ethnic Heritage Day celebrations are held regularly at the medical school to share information about various ethnic cultures. The events are organized by SIU’s Diversity, Multicultural and Minority Affairs office.

For more information, contact Patricia Davis at 217-545-7243 weekdays.
