Two SIU School of Medicine faculty members have received national honors – Dr. Susan Hingle Hingle was recognized for her efforts in the areas of medical education, women’s health and volunteerism as well as serving as an outstanding role model for residents and students. Hingle joined the SIU faculty in 1998. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. (1997). She earned her medical degree at Rush Medical College in Chicago (1993) and her bachelor's at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio (1989). Hingle is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. At the same meeting, Dr. David Steward Steward joined the SIU faculty in 1979. He completed his internal medicine residency at SIU (1978). He earned his medical and bachelor's degrees at the University of Iowa in Iowa City (1972, 1975). He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Hingle and Dr. Steward receive their awards. -30- |
