SIU School of Medicine Employees Honored for Service
Southern Illinois University School of Medicine has honored nearly 100 employees this fall in Springfield, Carbondale, Decatur and Quincy for their years of service.
Thirty-year awards went to Peter Borgia, Jr., Ph.D., professor of medical microbiology, immunology and cell biology; Peter Cadwell, financial officer for SIU Physicians & Surgeons; Katherine Grubb, systems analyst in information services; Larry Holman, assistant grounds gardener in capital planning and services; Gail Lott, office systems specialist in obstetrics and gynecology; Dr. Victoria Nichols-Johnson, associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology; John Record, assistant dean for rural health and alumni affairs; Joseph Schmitt, PH.D., associate professor and chair of biochemistry and molecular biology (Carbondale) and Hans Suchy, scientific analyst in plastic surgery.
Twenty-five year awards went to David Adams, equipment specialist in research services; Rosemary Adams; financial aid adviser in student affairs; Betty Burns, collection specialist and Laura Indermark, accountant, both in patient business services; Jerry Colliver, Ph.D., professor of statistics and research consulting; Dr. Rodger Elble, Jr., Ph.D., professor and chair of neurology; Richard French, Jr., assistant director of information resources; James Hale, applications analyst in information services; Ann Hamilton, director of continuing medical education; Deanna Lauderdale, library operations associate in the medical library; Susan Redding, nurse in internal medicine; Robert Ross, comptroller; Dr. Leonard Rybak, Ph.D., professor of surgery; and William Wiant, laboratory animal care technician in laboratory animal medicine.
Sixteen twenty year awards, 22 fifteen year awards and 37 ten year awards also were awarded.
