SIU School of Medicine Employees Honored for Service

Southern Illinois University School of Medicine has honored nearly 100 employees this fall for their years of service.

Four awards were given to employees in Carbondale – Joseph Schmit, Ph.D., associate professor and chair of biochemistry and molecular biology (30 years); Lydia Arbogast, Ph.D., associate professor of physiology (10); Blaine Bartholomew, Ph.D., professor of biochemistry and molecular biology (10); and Dr. Kyaw Thet Naing, assistant professor of family and community medicine (10).

One award was given to a faculty member at SIU Decatur Family Physicians in Decatur – Dr. John Bradley, professor of family and community medicine (15 years).

Five awards were given to employees at SIU Quincy Family Practice Center in Quincy – Charles Fitch, medical services administrator (20 years); Susan Aschemann, medical center administrator (15 years); Lorraine LaLond, office systems assistant (10 years); Jennifer Shupe, medical transcriptionist (10 years); and Dr. Donna White, assistant professor of family and community medicine (10 years).
