Fantastic Basket Raffle for Children’s Miracle Network

The third annual “Fantastic Basket” raffle is being held to raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN), which supports pediatric research, programs and equipment for St. John’s Children’s Hospital.  The children’s hospital in Springfield is a partnership of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and St. John’s Hospital. 

“As St. John’s Children’s Hospital continues to grow and develop, we are greatly appreciative of fund raising activities like SIU’s Fantastic Baskets project,” said Dr. Mark Puczynski, SIU professor and chair of pediatrics and medical director of the St. John’s Children’s Hospital.  “Support to the CMN will help us extend our services to more patients in Springfield and in the surrounding area.”

Winners can choose from a variety of “Fantastic Baskets” being created around specific themes such as “Cruizin’ Springfield,” fishing, and fall harvest.

Raffle tickets for the baskets will available Oct. 22 - Nov. 2.  Tickets sell for $1 each, 6 for $5, 12 for $10 and 25 for $20.  The baskets can be seen and raffle tickets can be purchased at various St. John’s and SIU locations —

SIU Main Lobby, 801 N. Rutledge, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, Oct. 22 - 26.

St. John's Hospital Heritage Room (near the cafeteria), 800 E. Carpenter St., 9a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, Oct. 29 - Nov. 2, with extended hours, Tuesday, Oct. 30, 5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., and Wednesday, Oct. 31,
7 a.m. - 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

The winning tickets will be drawn at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2.  Winners can pick up baskets after the raffle at SIU’s Foundation Office, 927 N. Rutledge.
