SIU Med School Sponsors Venture Development Talk

Venture development will be the topic of a presentation at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield.  This free, public lecture will be held 3 – 4 p.m. Thursday, March 20, in SIU’s South Auditorium, (second floor) 801 N. Rutledge St. in Springfield.  It is jointly sponsored by the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce.

“Taking the Next Steps in Venture Development,” will be presented by Waneta C. Tuttle.  She is owner and CEO of Southwest Medical Ventures (SMV), a life sciences venture development and advisory services company in Albuquerque, N.M.  She has served as founding CEO of Indigo Medical, (now owned by Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon Endosurgery), Patient Technologies, PhDx Systems and Exagen Diagnostics.

Prior to founding SMV, Tuttle was CEO at the Lovelace Medical Foundation in Albuquerque.  She earned her doctorate degree in biology from the University of New Mexico and a master’s in business administration from the university’s Robert O. Anderson School of Management.
