June 18, 2009 Two faculty members from the psychiatry department at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine have received national honors from the American Psychiatric Association (APA) at its annual meeting in May. Dr. Jeffrey Bennett, Bennett joined SIU’s faculty in 2003 and has served as director of SIU’s psychiatry residency program. He completed a fellowship in neuropsychiatry at the University of Chicago (UC) Hospitals (1992) and a research fellowship in neurology at the University of Maryland Medical Center (1987). He completed his psychiatry residency at the UC Hospitals (1991) and earned his medical degree at New York University School of Medicine (1986). He earned his bachelor's at Harvard University (1978). Dr. Robert Pary, Pary joined the SIU faculty in 1994 and is retiring this month. He completed a visiting fellowship in magnetic resonance imaging at the Pittsburgh NMR Institute (1989) and a fellowship in psychopharmacology at Tufts University School of Medicine (1982). He completed his psychiatric residency at Tufts (1981) and earned his medical and bachelor's degrees from Loyola University (1977, 1973). -30- |
