“Denim and Diamonds” to Raise Funds for SIU Cancer Institute

The SimmonsCooper Cancer Institute at SIU School of Medicine is hosting its eighth “Denim and Diamonds” fundraiser Saturday, October 18.  The funds raised will go towards completing the Cancer Institute’s research laboratories and enhancing amenities of the chemotherapy infusion area.  Guests are encouraged to dress in their finest denim or formal attire for the event, which begins at 6 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 3000 S. Dirksen Parkway, Springfield.

The event will feature live music by DK Money of Springfield and a formal dinner.  There will be both live and silent auctions with items that include gourmet dinners, vacation homes, one-of-a-kind jewelry, sporting event tickets and original artwork.  Tickets are $100 per person or $1,000 for a table of ten and available by calling the SIU Foundation 217-545-2955.
