SIU Med School Offers Seminar on Men’s Urological Problems
A free evening seminar about treatment options to help men overcome erectile dysfunction and incontinence will be presented in October by physicians from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. It will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, October 8, at the Dove Conference Center at St. John’s Hospital, 619 E. Mason Street, Springfield.
Dr. Tobias Köhler, assistant professor of urology at SIU, will present options for erectile dysfunction (ED), including medication and possible surgical options. Dr. Loren Ost, associate professor of urology at SIU, will present treatment options for stress incontinence following prostate surgery, including medication and possible surgical interventions. Both surgical procedures to treat incontinence or ED are covered by Medicare as well as most commercial and managed care plans.
“SIU is excited to offer treatment options for men who have one or both of these symptoms that severely affect men’s lives,” Ost said.
“No man need suffer erectile dysfunction or incontinence given the elegant, reliable and safe medical and surgical solutions available,” Köhler added.
