SIU Med School Announces McAfee Scholarship
Rebekah Petrone, a second-year medical student, has received a four-year monetary award from the Lorenzo S. McAfee Jr. Scholarship at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
Petrone is the daughter of Rick and Sue Petrone of Rochester. She is a graduate of Rochester High School (2005) and Augustana College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in biology/pre-medicine (2008).
The McAfee Scholarship was established in 2010 by the family of Clara McAfee, in memory of her son who passed away in 2005. Clara McAfee, a retired employee of SIU, passed away in 2009.
