The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Springfield specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in women of all ages and represents the subspecialty areas of maternal fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, reproductive endocrinology, and urogynecology as well as general obstetrics and gynecology. The department faculty consist of sixteen full-time academic physicians, two research faculty and 25 clinical faculty, all who work closely with Resident physicians, and medical students.

Our department is dedicated to translating the latest advances in women’s health to the people of central and southern Illinois. Our faculty combine decades of experience with compassion and a devotion to learning. Our staff express their vocation to public service through a commitment to service and problem solving. Together we educate tomorrow’s community leaders in women’s health through our residency and medical student programs. In active research programs, we are exploring strategies to make the best current care better.
