Dr. Sohail Siddique

Dr. Sohail Siddique is chief of the Urogynecology division of the OB/GYN department. He is also the director for the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery fellowship at SIU School of Medicine. He is board certified in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) and Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is one of a select few who is board certified in FPMRS in central and southern Illinois.

Dr. Siddique provides expert services to women with pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence and the full spectrum of pelvic floor disorders. He has developed a multidisciplinary team of care givers to treat Pelvic Floor Disorders. The team involves Urology, Physical Therapy, Gastroenterology, Colorectal Surgery, and Radiology all working together to offer the best patient care possible.

Dr. Siddique also serves as the Principal Investigator for a number of studies throughout the department and co-directs the OB/GYN resident research program. Currently, the Urogynecology division in conjunction with the Division of Urology, is enrolling patients in a clinical trial designed to test the potential for Myrbetriq® to calm sleep disturbances in women suffering from overactive bladder and incontinence.

Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgical Fellowship Program

The program is one of only 42 in the country that teaches advanced laparoscopic, hysteroscopic and robotic skills. In existence since 2010, the team at SIU School of Medicine trains fellows in advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques and provides this expertise to our patients.
