Installation
If you are
preparing a presentation for use with the system, you will need to download the
latest version of the software and install it on your computer. This is
available below as a secure download (use your SIUMED ID and password).

Registering the Add-In
After installing
the software as an administrator, log in as the user and register the add-in in
PowerPoint. See environment-specific instructions below.
After the
software is installed and the add-in is registered, you can add questions to
your new or existing PowerPoint presentation.
Windows XP
PowerPoint
2003

Go to Start --> Programs --> InterWrite PRS -->
Register PowerPoint Add-In.

Click on Register.
-
When you launch PowerPoint 2003,
the PRS menu will appear in the upper left.
PowerPoint
2007
-
Go to Start --> Programs --> InterWrite PRS -->
Register PowerPoint Add-In.

Click on Register.
-
Launch PowerPoint 2007.

Click Microsoft Office Button -->
PowerPoint options --> Add-Ins.
-
From "Manage: COM Add-Ins"
click "Go".

From COM Add-Ins window select
"Add..." and browse to "C:\Program Files\InterWrite PRS
AddIn.dll"

Click OK.
-
Click OK.
-
Now you should see an Add-Ins at
top which will display the PRS menu.
Mac OS 10.4
PowerPoint 2004
-
Open PowerPoint and select the
PowerPoint Menu.
-
Select the Preferences... menu
option.
-
Click on the View tab and uncheck
the Project Gallery at startup option. Click on
the OK button.

Select the Tools Menu.
-
Select the Add-ins... menu option.
-
Click on the Add... button.
Navigate to the folder in which PRS is installed.
By default, PRS is installed in the InterWrite PRS
folder.

Select the PRS AddIn.ppa file and
click on the Open button.

The PRS Add-in file will be listed
in the Add-in List. Click on the OK button.

Restart PowerPoint.
By default, the PRS Add-In Toolbar
displays along the left side of the PowerPoint window.
You can move it by grabbing the spot next to the Close
button and dragging it to the top of the window where the
other Toolbars are located. Click and drag the Resize
button to change the PRS Toolbar's orientation.
There may be some lag time between when
a Question Slide is accessed and when PRS is displayed.
