Ode to Oedogonium

Oh oedogonium, thou twice-sexed creature,
I think that this is thy best feature.
This versatility of thy fertility is just grand.
We all should bow and give thee a hand
All thou dost do is eat and replicate.
A life like this would be just great.
Thou canst with another or alone;
duplicate, produce and multiply thine own.
Oh like you I would love to be;
just to eat, conjugate, and swim the sea.
