Marshmallow Clouds

Life tumbles me in the river

Of life among the rapids

And I dream of gills

But have no scales

And then when I

Think I am about to hook a lead weight

To the bottom

I catch a branch

Extended by the trees

On the shore of life

And there

I am

Free of the water,

Throat ravaged,

Waterfall down the face of rocks

Now decorating my skin.

Alive,

my baby blues notice

Marshmallow clouds again.
