Cat-teral

(I'd apologize for any similarities to "Doggeral", but Ogden Nash wouldn't mind)

A cat's ears are rotatable

But hardly ever inflatable.

One can go left,

One can go right,

Both can go straight

If something good is in sight.

Cats' ears can go flat

But you don't want that

For ears that are flat

Mean hissy cat spats.

The backs are soft, the insides bristly

Even deeper lie mysteries

Of dark feline history

But my cats won't speak about that.

.

The ears are half mast,

When eyes are half cast,

The purring full blast,

And sleeping will last.

A cat's ears are notable

But probably not floatable.

And that's all there is about that.
