Good-bye to an Old Friend

You once were strong and bristly white,
but now you’re slooped and stained.
You once had made me clean and fresh,
and friends you’d help me retain.
You touched me in my intimate places
and made my smile bright.
You massaged and soothed and even scrubbed
the build-up off my life.
I always knew where to find you,
and could count on you everyday.
But the years have rolled and took their toll,
and now you’re starting to fray.
Dear friend I hope you understand
that pain did grip my heart…
when I awoke and realized that soon we’d have to
part.
But look upon the bright side,
and don’t be sad and blue.
For I know I’ll never have another
toothbrush quite like you.
