Been Waiting Forever

Finger tips tap tribal beats

     with impatience

Toes too tap along

     not to be outdone while sighs intensify

     and time stands statuesque as I do

I linger in line

     a spectre all but forgotten

     avoided like last week’s leftovers

And fingertips
