Today For Two

Today, leaving play behind, he blasts over and above and across the continent to return to work.

Snow topped mountains, vast brown prairies, green rimmed rivers and great blue lakes, thrust up and spread out and meander through and  float below his fast silver tube.

Far away, an old friend anew, no purpose in mind, wanders  beside and around and along a coastal island's shore.

Wet sand between toes, blue sky atop sea, white foam on  smooth rocks, and fresh life in dead shells, tickles and engulfs and bathes and restores her artist's soul.

Both carve faint trails.

A thin cloud in the sky, and soft dents from bare feet, catch  and reflect and change the sun's fading light before the wind and the tide and  the night take them away.
