Educational Policy Council
Curriculum Documents SubcommitteeCHARGE: to consider the major educational documents including the guiding principles of Curriculum 2000 for needed changes and addition. In particular, the EPC directs the subcommittee to add language regarding a clear definition of faculty roles, rights and expectations within the curriculum. It has been suggested that the language may be taken in large part from the LCME Accreditation Standards, “Functions and Structures of the Medical School.” In addition, the EPC voted to add wording from an AAMC document entitled “The Compact Between Teachers and Learners.” The subcommittee should consider to which documents this compact should be appended. Also, the subcommittee should consider the term “problem based learning” and provide a clear definition of this phase for these important curriculum documents. The work of the committee will be considered by EPC at its March 2003 meeting and then be presented to Faculty Council, the Executive Committee and the general faculty. MEMBERS:
