| Faculty, Principal Administrative and Research employees who hold continuing appointments begin accruing 2.083 days of vacation each month of appointment. The maximum an employee may accrue is 50 days. Upon resignation or retirement, individuals holding continuing appointments will receive payment for accrued but unused vacation.
Faculty, Principal Administrative and Research employees who hold term appointments begin earning vacation at the rate of 2.083 days for each month of appointment. However, if
termination of employment occurs prior to the ending date of the appointment, used but unearned vacation will be adjusted against the employee's final earnings. All vacation earned within the term of the appointment must be used prior to the termination date of the appointment or it will be lost. There is no payment for accrued but unused vacation for term appointees. |
