SIU Audiology - Hearing and Balance Clinic

The Hearing and Balance Clinic is a full service Audiology facility committed to serving central and downstate Illinois in the comprehensive care of hearing, tinnitus, and balance disorders. We are part of the Division of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery located at St. John's Pavilion.

There are professionals specializing in infant, pediatric and adult hearing evaluations, hearing handicap/communication assessments, evaluation and fitting of hearing aids, and rehabilitation. Balance and dizziness evaluation and treatment is also available. Our services are provided in conjunction with the otolaryngologists (ear, nose, and throat doctors) at SIU School of Medicine. Referrals are also accepted from other physicians and professionals. We are associated with the St. John's Hospital Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Program.

December 2014, marks The Hearing and Balance Clinic's tenth anniversary of the Cochlear Implant Program. Cochlear implants are indicated for use by adults and children over 1 year of age who have significant hearing loss that is not effectively treated with conventional hearing aids.
