Quality of Life, Physical Functioning and Head and Neck Cancer (LIPHT)

Purpose of trial:	The purpose of this study is to examine the quality of life, nutrition, physical functioning and physical activity of head and neck cancer patients.

Type of patients needed:	Recently diagnosed head and neck cancer patients
Age:	18 years of age and older

Number of visits required:	2 visits at baseline, 2 visits at four months
Length of study involvement:	5 months
Ending date of study:	December 31, 2007
Tests to be performed:	Calories used while resting (indirect calorimetry), 8 foot walk test, standing, chair rise and sit survey, diet record, body composition test, muscle strength test
