Best Practices in Rural Opioid Prescribing

In July 2017 the SIU School of Medicine (SOM) Department of Psychiatry received funding from the Illinois Department of Human Services to develop the Rural Opioid Prescriber Training Program. The training program, which is currently under development, will target all opioid prescribers in the 66 counties in Western, Central, Eastern, and Southern Illinois served by the SOM.  The purpose of this webpage is to provide information on opioid-related resources and prescribing best practices, and to connect prescribers to the Rural Opioid Prescriber Training Program courses.  Information on this webpage will be updated regularly.
