Vinod N. Alluri, MD, MPH
Dr. Vinod Alluri believes that to provide excellent patient care, it is important to know the patient as a whole, not only their psychiatric condition but all the issues of their life. Dr. Alluri had an opportunity to learn from different experiences ranging from his psychiatry residency training and master’s in public health at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, medical observerships and research experiences in New York City, and medical school education from India. Dr. Alluri enjoys teaching medical students, residents, and providing compassionate care to patients and has interest in providing multiple modalities of treatment that include psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, and somatic therapies. He is experienced in providing electroconvulsive therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation treatment, and plans to develop Ketamine Infusion Treatment Service for depression. Dr. Alluri’s leadership roles include serving as the SIU Psychiatry Department’s Director of Inpatient Services and as the Chair of the Access to Care Committee for the Illinois Psychiatric Society.
