Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry SMS 1715


The Department of Psychiatry of Southern Illinois University School of
Medicine is seeking to hire a full-time faculty member to fill the position of
Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry. The incumbent of the
position will serve as Medical Director for Chester Mental Health Center in
Chester, Illinois. The position is also responsible for instruction of students,
residents and other allied health professionals as well as participation in
clinical and research services, including the re-establishment of a forensic
psychiatry fellowship.

Qualified applicants must have completed four years of AOA or ACGME
approved postgraduate training with specialization in psychiatry and an
ACGME accredited forensic psychiatry fellowship, must be board certified
in general and forensic psychiatry and must be eligible for licensure as an
M.D. or D.O. in the State of Illinois and substantial experience directing an
academic medical service. This position has been designated as security
sensitive and employment is contingent upon the result of a criminal
background investigation. SIU SOM is an EEOC employer. Deadline for
