The Department of Psychiatry of Southern Illinois University School of
Medicine is seeking to hire a full-time faculty member to fill the position of
Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry within the Division of Adult
Outpatient Services.

The incumbent will be primarily responsible for direct patient care activities
with psychiatric outpatients at the SIU Behavioral Health Center as well as
circumscribed inpatient duties. The incumbent will also be expected to
participate in the development and delivery of instructional activities to
medical students, residents and allied health professionals, as well as
research functions related to specialty interest and expertise. The SIU
Department of Psychiatry is a dynamic, expanding organization dedicated
to excellence in clinical service and teaching with a steadily expanding

Qualified applicants must have an M.D. or D.O. degree, be board certified
or eligible in general psychiatry and be eligible for licensure in the State of
Illinois. Applicants must also be privileged in electroconvulsive therapy or
be willing to obtain such privileges. Special interest or expertise in geriatrics
is considered desirable. This position has been designated as security
sensitive and employment is contingent upon the result of a criminal back-
