Res_supervision

Individual supervision is the lynchpin of the resident's training and experience.
In addition to working closely with rotation supervisors, residents meet weekly
with faculty as part of their ongoing participation in the Psychiatry
Department's Outpatient Clinic. Two types of outpatient supervision are
provided: faculty psychiatrists provide general oversight and guidance, and
nonmedical faculty provide highly focused psychotherapy supervision. Audio
-visual facilities are used extensively, as a means of both direct supervision
and instruction. Supervisors are rotated annually or semiannually, offering
residents a balance of continuity and diversity in their educational experience.
