Dr. Valerie Flacco (Chief Resident 1995-1996) -- 1996 YWCA Woman of Achievement Professions Award.
Dr. James Nesselroad and Dr. Valerie Flacco (Resident Physicians 1993-1996) -- 1995 Outstanding Research Paper at the American Academy of Family Physicians Annual Scientific Assembly ("Accuracy of Automated Finger Blood Pressure Devices").
Dr. Jerry Kruse (Professor and Director) -- 1991 Illinois Academy of Family Physicians Teacher of the Year; 1989 Walter H. Kemp Award for the Outstanding Article in American Family Physician ("Fever in Children").
Dr. Timothy Jacobs (1993 Graduate of the Quincy Family Practice Program and Volunteer Clinical Faculty) -- 1996 Parke-Davis/American Academy of Family Practice Teaching Award (Given to 12 outstanding volunteer teachers in family practice each year).
Dr. Debra Phillips (Associate Professor and Associate Director) -- 1998 National Rural Health Association Distinguished Educator Award; 1996 Illinois Rural Physician of the Year; 1995 YWCA Woman of Achievement Professions Award; 1993 Outstanding Research Paper at the American Academy of Family Physicians Annual Meeting ("Economic Viability of a Model Rural Family Practice").
Quincy Family Practice Program was awarded a three-year Federal Grant in July of 1995 by the Bureau of Health Professions. The grant was to design a model comprehensive rural clinic. Objectives of this grant were to create a rural learning model, design a curriculum for teaching in a rural setting and to train residents in the delivery of health care in rural areas.
The Illinois Department of Public Health awarded Quincy Family Practice a three-year grant in July of 1997. This grant will allow enhancement of the technologic base at the East Adams Clinic, refine resident application of community-oriented primary care and develop specific coping mechanisms for physicians in rural areas.
