TeamworkOur residents are from a variety of educational backgrounds and bring a wealth of previous personal experiences to the program. The residents are a very cohesive and supportive group, and have always worked closely together to assure each other appropriate educational and personal growth.
The residents make major contributions to the residency program. They
are intimately involved in the development of program policies, and function as important
members of the committees governing resident selection and curriculum development. The
residents also have significant input into the design of their individual curricula. Great
flexibility exists to allow residents to meet their special educational needs.
Service to the community is an important quality which is cultivated in our residents. They provide educational programs and medical service through church and school organizations. Charitable activities and services to the medically underserved are also emphasized.
Organized sporting and social activities provide interaction on a non-medical basis and promote camaraderie and teamwork concepts. Resident retreats occur on a twice-yearly basis, and ample opportunity exists for participation in softball, basketball, and outdoor sporting events. The residents enjoy many family social activities.
