Dr. Lausen is a Springfield native who received his bachelor's and master's degrees in biology from the University of Illinois at Springfield. He received his medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine where he also completed a predoctoral fellowship in Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment. Dr. Lausen completed his residency at the SIU Center for Family Medicine in Springfield. He is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP), American Academy of Family Physicians, Association of Osteopathic Directors and Medical Educators (AODME) and the National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators. Dr. Lausen has served as President of the Illinois Society of the ACOFP, the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society and AODME. He currently serves as Assistant Chair of the Department of Family & Community Medicine and as Director of Medical Education and Quality Initiatives. Within the SIU Center for Family Medicine, Dr. Lausen serves as Director of the Osteopathic Residency Program and Hospital Service.
