Associate Professor, Director of Medical Student Education, Director of Osteopathic Medical Education

Dr. Lausen is a Springfield native who received his bachelor's and master's degrees in biology from the University of Illinois at Springfield. He received his medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine where he also completed a predoctoral fellowship in Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment. Dr. Lausen completed his residency at the SIU Center for Family Medicine in Springfield. Since then, he has completed the Leadership in Osteopathic Medical Education fellowship through the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Predoctoral Directors Development Institute through the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. Dr. Lausen was a recipient of the Pfizer Teacher Development Award from the AAFP Foundation and the Wyeth Emerging Leader Award from the American Osteopathic Foundation. He currently serves as the Department of Family& Community Medicine Director of Medical Student Education and Director of Osteopathic Medical Education. Dr. Lausen and his wife Jackie are the proud parents of two daughters.
