Dr. Lausen is a Springfield native who received his bachelor's and master's degrees in biology from the University of Illinois at Springfield. He received his medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine where he also completed a predoctoral fellowship in Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment. Dr. Lausen completed his residency at the SIU Center for Family Medicine in Springfield. He is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP), American Academy of Family Physicians, Association of Osteopathic Directors and Medical Educators (AODME) and the National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators. Dr. Lausen has served as President of the AODME, Illinois Society of the ACOFP and the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society. He also serves as Co-Executive Director of the Midwest Healthcare Quality Alliance, a partnership with Memorial Health Systems designed to develop innovative solutions for improving healthcare quality, safety, access and community outcomes. Dr. Lausen has a special interest in performance improvement, quality and safety, and medical education.
