What attracted you to SIU Springfield Family Medicine?
I like the atmosphere of the program. Faculty members and residents are very open and dedicated. Staffs in the clinic and hospital are also very friendly to us. I have felt so very much since I had an observership.

What makes this residency unique ?
I recognized that the mentorship in the program is really resident-centered mentorship system that gives us a plenty of medical knowledge and feedback. Faculty members are very dedicated to educate residents. A generous quality of orientation when starting a residency made me ready to get into an unfamiliar medical system in the U.S. which is different from Japan.

What is living in Springfield like for you ?
People in Springfield are very nice. My wife and daughter have already made friends here. Moderately-sized town, with lots of nature and safe town are good for family to live especially for kids. I also feel comfortable working with people in Springfield.
