Dr. Yociss was born in Streator, Illinois, and moved to Springfield as a toddler. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy (STLCOP) in St. Louis, Missouri. While a student at STLCOP, Dr. Yociss was appointed as Ensign in the Public Health Service and served in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Drug Evaluation and Research in Rockville, Maryland. For her postgraduate studies, she attended the University of Kentucky and obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Dr. Yociss is a member of the Rho Chi Pharmaceutical Honor Society.
