Springfield Noon Lions Club Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded annually to assist students in pursuing post-secondary academic education.

Amount: $1,000

Qualifications or Criteria for Applying:

  • Must be currently attending an accredited college or university;
  • Must be considered a full-time student by the standards set by the institution in which the applicant is, or will be, enrolled;
  • Must have an interest in pursuing an education in the field of health care (the highest consideration will be given to sight and hearing oriented programs);
  • Must have attained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (based on A = 4.0) during the last two or three years of education;
  • Must complete all three pages of the application by typing or printing legibly;
  • Must submit two letters of recommendation from educators, school administrators, church leaders, and/or leaders of community organizations in which the applicant is involved which discuss the applicant's character and potential for success in achieving his/her educational and career goals (it is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that the letters of recommendation are received by the application deadline); and
  • Must submit a copy of the applicant's most recent academic transcript (it is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that the letters of recommendation are received by the application deadline)

An applicant or the applicant's parents or guardian must be permanent residents of Sangamon County, Illinois.

Notwithstanding the above, students that are directly related to a member of the Springfield Noon Lions Club are not eligible
