Welcome, and thank you for your interest in the COMPrehensive Weight Management Program!

We are a comprehensive clinic that treats people with obesity concerns and issues. We offer a well-rounded medically managed program which treats each patient as an individual. We feel this is what sets us apart from other weight loss programs.

During the first visit, our team provides a thorough evaluation which includes a consultation by a board certified internal medicine physician, an informative lecture, a dietitian consultation and a counselor evaluation. These are scheduled on the same day to avoid four different visits.

During these evaluations, you will be provided with information to begin to make healthy lifestyle changes immediately. Also, a plan for continued treatment and support will be discussed with you by our team of health care professionals.

Is COMP Right For Me?

The Comprehensive Weight Management Program is designed for those people with serious weight problems who are looking for a comprehensive program that can be tailored to their specific needs. Our program is not designed for those who have just a few pounds to lose.

An estimated 97 million adults in the United States are overweight or obese. Obesity is a complex multifactoral disease that develops from an interaction of genetic predisposing factors and environment. The degree of obesity is measured by the Body Mass Index (BMI), which describes relative weight for height and correlated with total body fat content.

Overweight refers to an excess of body weight compared to set standards (BMI 25-30). Obesity is defined as BMI greater than 30 and significantly raises the risk of other medical problems as outlined below.

Morbid obesity is typically defined as being 100 pounds or more over ideal body weight or having a body mass index (BMI) of 40 or higher.
