How do I begin to thank you for your kindness and professionalism? From the moment you introduced yourself to me in the ED to the post-op visit in your office I knew I was in good hands. As you are probably well aware, it doesn't take very long for nurses to size up a good doctor when we meet one. You were immediately trusted by both my sister and me. Patty was an OR nurse for 34 years and when an OR nurse gives approval of a surgeon it is always a good sign.
You and Dr's Bailly and Lovette were very kind and thoughtful to someone who was far away from home and certainly out of my comfort zone. It is very difficult for a medical provider to be on the receiving end of health care. You made my "lack of control" easier to deal with except for that d*** NG tube. However, you have been forgiven for that as well. I do understand the need for the placement...no matter how much I hated it.
So, as inadequate as it seems, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your personal kindness and generosity of spirit will never be forgotten.
Sincerely, Kathy Gigstad
