A group of four or five students will be assigned to a faculty mentor who will work closely with you throughout the clerkship. He or she will be responsible for monitoring your progress, evaluating your H&P and providing you with feedback from the rest of the faculty regarding your performance. As a group you will meet with you mentor a minimum of five times during the clerkship. Students are expected to be prepared to discuss their patient cases at each session. There will also be one pre-assigned formal case presentation by each student. The following are guidelines to help you prepare for the patient presentation. 1) Choose a patient with a definitive diagnosis that required surgery 2) Be prepared with Pertinent History and Physical exam 3) Provide all radiological study results and lab results 4) Discuss management for the patient In addition, to group mentor sessions each student will be assigned a week to follow their mentor.
