Kathleen C.M. Campbell, PhD

Dr. Campbell’s research focuses on bench to bedside translationalresearch in the discovery and development of pharmacologic protective agents to prevent or reduce noise-induced hearing loss, aminoglycoside-induced ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity, cisplatin-induced ototoxicity, neurotoxicity, gastrointestinal toxicity, and alopecia, and radiation-induced oral mucositis. She has 6 US patents issued with foreign coverage.
She has an actively funded basic science research lab and funded clinical trials program with grants from National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense and other agencies. Her research has generated over 8.2 million in national and international grants, contracts and patent income.
She is the author of Essential Audiology for Physicians and author/editor of Pharmacology and Ototoxicity for Audiologists which is a required text in most audiology doctoral programs.
