Dr. Valerie Ray is a licensed and certified audiologist at SIU Hearing and Balance at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Dr. Ray graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Hearing Science and completed her Master’s degree in Audiology from the University of Iowa, in Iowa City. Upon graduation, she completed a clinical fellowship year with Audiology Consultants of the Quad Cities, in Moline, IL.
Dr. Ray worked in conjunction with Ear, Nose and Throat doctors as well as providing services such as hearing aid evaluations, industrial hearing evaluations, and rehabilitative therapy for hearing aid patients. After obtaining national certification in audiology, Dr. Ray worked for another private practice focusing on diagnostic testing and hearing aid dispensing.
Dr. Ray is licensed to practice Audiology by the state of Illinois, and is certified by the American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a certified member of ASHA. Dr. Ray is also a member of the Illinois Academy of Audiology.
Dr. Ray provides a full range of audiology services and specializes in hearing aid evaluations and fittings of a variety of styles and types of aids. She enjoys counseling hearing aid patients and helping to improve their quality of life through better hearing. She also provides vestibular evaluations and vestibular rehabilitation therapy.
