Welcome to the Southern Illinois University Cancer Institute’s HANOT. Our mission is to improve the outcome of patients with Head and Neck Surgery by working as a team to optimize patient care, make new discoveries, and educate health care providers.
The information outlined on our web site covers the key components of the program, each of which is important in order to achieve our mission. Our weekly multidisciplinary conference held every Tuesday provides a forum for discussion of Head and Neck Surgery patients and the development of a consensus for their treatment.
HANOT has worked together to create this multidisciplinary clinic to provide the best approach to cancer care.
During a patient’s visit, a head and neck surgeon, medical oncologist and radiation oncologist work together to determine the most current and appropriate treatment for the patient.
Other specialists who work together to provide services include pathologists, radiologists, oral surgeons, dentists, social workers, dieticians and nurses.
