This is a one-year position, including both adult and pediatric clinical experience with a full range of voice, swallowing and airway disorders. The fellowship also incudes basic research experience, with mentoring in research design and grantsmanship as well as project opportunities in laryngeal neurophysiology, nerve repair, laryngeal biomechanics and wound healing. The facility is well-equipped with videoendoscopy and stroboscopy, acoustic analysis, aerodynamic testing, electromyography and transnasal esophagoscopy

Where are you from?: I am originally from New York City where I went to medical school. I have lived in Massachusetts, Vermont, Iowa, and Tennessee. Most recently, I lived in Nashville Tennessee before coming to Springfield.
Why SIU?: I came to SIU to train in Laryngology with Dr. Gayle Woodson who has an international reputation in her field. I also came to work with Dr. Tom Robbins, who is highly esteemed in the field of Head and Neck Oncology.
Areas of interest?: I am interested in investigating the role of micronutrients and antioxidants in preventing recurrence in people who have been treated for head and neck cancer.
