All of our audiologists have a Doctorate or Master’s degree in Audiology. Advanced degrees in Audiology require coursework in many areas. For Example: Anatomy and physiology of the hearing/balance system, Hearing science, Pediatric development and testing procedures, Counseling and rehabilitation for people with hearing and balance disorders, Hearing device selection and fitting rationales, Cochlear implantation. All audiologists have completed either a Clinical Fellowship Year or a Clinical Internship as part of their education. Audiologists at SIU are credentialed by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the American Academy of Audiology and meet annual continuing education requirements to maintain certification with these organization. We abide by the ethical code of conduct set forth by these organizations.

All SIU Audiologists are licensed to practice Audiology in the State of Illinois. Continuing education requirements for licensure renewal are met on a biennial basis.
