About

Dr. Matthew Johnson, Assistant Professor of Surgery and partner in the Division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, specializes in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He also has clinical interest in craniofacial surgery. He is board certified in otolaryngology.

Prior to joining SIU, Dr. Johnson completed a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at State University of New York Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. He also completed his otolaryngology head and neck surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. He earned his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Johnson is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, American Academy of Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery, American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association and the American Rhinologic Society.
