About

Dr. Norman Y. Otsuka is an internationally recognized pediatric orthopaedic surgeon, with an interest in trauma, congenital and developmental conditions, and neuromuscular conditions. Dr. Otsuka has served as Chairperson, Section on Orthopaedics, American Academy of Pediatrics, and also on the Boards of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the US Bone and Joint Initiative. He is presently Chair, Evaluations and Assessments Committee, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a Board Director of the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education.

Dr. Otsuka has served on the faculties of the University of California, San Francisco (Assistant Professor), University of California, Los Angeles (Professor), New York University (Joseph E. Milgam Professor), and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Professor). With extensive publications in the field of pediatric orthopaedic surgery and neuromuscular conditions, Dr. Otsuka contributes to several Journals: Deputy Editor, Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons; Editorial Board, Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics; Editorial Board, Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, Part B; and Editorial Board, Journal of Children’s Orthopaedics.

Clinical responsibilities for Dr. Otsuka have included the positions of: Chief, Pediatric Orthopaedic Service, UCSF Medical Center; Chief of Staff, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Los Angeles; Director, Center for Children, NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases; and Chief, Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery, Children's Hospital at Montefiore.
