Dr. Hasanadka grew up in Marion, IN, where he was high-school valedictorian. He graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biochemistry in 1998, and went on to obtain his medical degree from Indiana University in 2002. After completing his General Surgery residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2009, which included a year dedicated to performing endovascular therapy, he undertook advanced training in Vascular Surgery at SIU, finishing in 2011. His early practice experiences were in research oriented private practice groups, allowing Dr. Hasanadka to participate in clinical research trials and to provide cutting edge complex vascular and endovascular therapies to his patients afflicted with vascular disease. In 2016, he returned to SIU as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Vascular Surgery to further explore his research interests and contribute his knowledge and expertise to the training of future generations of vascular surgeons.

Dr. Hasanadka is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery with Added Qualifications in Vascular Surgery. He has professional interests in limb saving treatments for arterial occlusive disease, as well as lifesaving aneurysmal disease therapies, first rib resection for thoracic outlet syndrome, and advanced techniques for dialysis access surgery. His current research is focused on studying the clinical outcomes of therapies for patients with vascular disease and ways to improve them, be that through new techniques, new treatment algorithms, or reorganization of care delivery. Dr. Hasanadka feels every patient is an individual and a key aspect in the treatment of vascular disease is tailoring the therapy to the patient, to both maximize their quality of life and to give them the best outcome possible.
