Brief Bio

Dr. David Rogers is an associate professor in the Division of General Surgery, Department of Surgery at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
Dr. Rogers received his medical degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa. He completed his general surgery residency as well as a surgery research fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia. He later completed a Pediatric Surgical Oncology Fellowship at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and a Pediatric Surgery Residency at the University of Tennessee. He is board certified in general surgery. Dr. Rogers is a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics with a certificate of Special Qualifications in Pediatric Surgery.
Dr. Rogers has co-authored over 30 journal articles and given over 50 presentations and educational courses. His research interests are in surgical education.
Dr. Rogers was born in Gainesville, Florida. He and his wife, Laura, have two sons and reside in Springfield.
