Dr. Roger Kim Earns Visiting Professorship at Tulane University

The Society for Asian Academic Surgeons has selected Roger H. Kim, MD, FACS, as a visiting professor for the 2019-2020 academic year. Kim will deliver the Peter and Meilin Wang SAAS Lectureship, endowed by Dr. Tom Wang, at Tulane University in New Orleans. 

At SIU Medicine, Kim is an assistant professor of surgery and the general surgery residency program director. His clinical expertise lies in the management of breast cancer, melanoma, gastrointestinal tract tumors (stomach, esophagus, small intestine, colon, rectum), pancreatic and hepatobiliary tumors, soft tissue sarcomas, and peritoneal carcinomatosis.

He is an active member of and has committee appointments for multiple national organizations, including the Society of University Surgeons, Association for Academic Surgery, Association for Surgical Education, the Society of Surgical Oncology, and the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association. He has extensive research experience in clinical oncology and surgical education. He has authored more than 35 peer-reviewed publications, as well as seven book chapters.
