Graduate (1978-1985):
Responsible on a day-to-day basis as a neurosurgery resident for teaching medical students and junior residents basic skills in neurosurgery.

Faculty (1985-present):
Responsible on a day to day basis as a faculty member of the Division of Neurosurgery for teaching medical students and residents skills in neurosurgery. These skills include pre-operative and post-operative patient management as well as surgical skills.

Two lectures per academic quarter to the third-year medical students on neurosurgery. In the past thirteen years these lectures have been on the treatment of severe head injury and the treatment of cervical and lumbar disc disease.

Between 1994 and 2001, I participated as a tutor for the Problem-based Learning program involving the first-year students (PBL-103). This involves a two-hour class twice a week on the Northwestern University Medical School Chicago Campus for one academic quarter.

I also participate in the teaching of residents and medical students at various neurosurgery conferences, lectures, grand rounds, morbidity-mortality conferences, journal clubs, etc.
