• Foot and ankle surgery
• General orthopaedics
• Efficacy of direct current electrical bone stimulation with total contact casting for the management of Charcot fractures.
• Biomechanical stability and rigidity comparing fixation of subtalar fusion:
• Anterior to posterior screw, posterior to anterior screw vs. staples.
• Comparing blade plate vs. screws vs. IM nailing in tibiocalcaneal arthrodesis.
• Functional outcome and gait analysis following ankle and tibiocalcaneal arthrodesis.
• Cartilage and synovial analysis of the Charcot joint.
• Nuclear medicine scans for the diagnosis of diabetic osteomyelitis.
• Anatomy of the tarsal tunnel: Areas of maximal intracompartmental pressure, effect of surgical release.

Brief Bio

Dr. O.B. Idusuyi is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, Department of Surgery for the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He is an orthopaedic surgeon with special interests in the foot and ankle.
Dr. Idusuyi received his medical degree in 1990 from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee where he earned several awards of recognition for academic achievement. Following a surgical internship at Martin Luther King Medical Center in Los Angeles, he completed his orthopaedic surgical residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. He served as a foot and ankle fellow with The Center for Orthopaedic Care in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Dr. Idusuyi is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of numerous academic and professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, the American Medical Association and the Illinois State Medical Society. He is nationally-renowned for his published work and presentations in the field of orthopaedic surgery.
Dr. Idusuyi specializes in general orthopaedic trauma, arthroscopy and correction of complex foot and ankle deformities. He is the medical director of the Central Illinois Diabetic Research and Foot Clinic and the Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Center, an affiliate of the Bone and Joint Institute at St. John’s Hospital.
